Heather: Believing in God, who they can't see...

Richard took us prayer walking yesterday in an area he has been praying for, due to the large number of temples and shrines located there. He told us that Satan has a firm hold on the people there, since they are entrenched in their traditions of Buddhism and Shinto beliefs.

A woman named Ada who is doing seminary work in Toronto joined as for the day. She is a radiation therapist and loves her job, but has a real heart for the Japanese people and wants to work here as a missionary. She told me about an interaction she had with an older man in Japan. She talked to him about God and His love for him, and the man wanted to believe. But he said it was hard to believe in a God he couldn't see.

Ada talked with him for awhile, and he told her she must have good parents since she was such a nice person. Ada then asked him "If you can believe that I have nice parents, even though you can't see them, then why can't you believe in God who also changes people's lives"? Even though you can't see Him, you can see His work in the people who follow Him. This helped the man to understand her words.

This story really impacted me and helped me to realize why we are here. These people find it really difficult to believe in God, who they can't see, but we hope they will remember the love of God they feel through us. Please pray that we will shine with God's love and impact their lives in a memorable way...

Thanks for your prayers :)
Heather
